Our total sales in 2001 were $2145. and $3329. in 2002.

LIBRARY

Our new Librarian, John Simard, has developed a new format for borrowing/returning items. It is self explanatory and you will see it at Black Forest where our library is housed.

SHOW AND TELL

The Instant Gallery Table was filled with many neat turnings. This good idea is catching on.

Demonstration

JACK WHITWORTH demonstrated use of 2 Axminster Excentric attachments for chucks. They are designed to attach to an Axminster chuck, however as Jack doesn’t have one, he made a wooden chuck which he attached to his One Way chuck. (ingenious !) One of the units has 36 fixed positions enabling many excentric forms for vases, loving cups, candle stick holders, leg etc. Jack made neat insertion of circles on end pieces in a number of configurations. Pretty bolo ties. He made a goblet with an excentric stem from the other attachment which has 12 index positions. I likely have this a little mixed up, so if any member is interested in excentric turning best contact Jack.

Thanks for sharing this with us, Jack.

EXPLORING THE INTERNET

Jim Thorne , with use of his son’s laptop and a very expensive projector borrowed from Dale Hildebrand and using Terry Golbeck’s internet connection, opened many websites relating to wood turning. This was good info for members. Jim is going to E’Mail each member with a list of websites opened. If you have any favourite sites contact Jim.
